## 2. What are cookies?
Cookies are small data files that a website may store on or access from your computer, smartphone, tablet, or other device.
Cookies can be used for purposes such as keeping a user signed in, maintaining secure sessions, remembering choices, processing payments, providing website functionality, measuring website usage, or supporting advertising.
Similar technologies, such as local storage, pixels, scripts, tags and device identifiers, may perform comparable functions. Where relevant, references to “cookies” in this Policy also include similar technologies.
## 3. What cookies does Reliable Reach use?
At present, Reliable Reach does **not** use cookies for:
- Google Analytics or other website analytics; - targeted or behavioural advertising; - Meta/Facebook Pixel; - Google Ads tracking; - TikTok Pixel or similar advertising pixels; or - social-media tracking.
The cookies set directly through the Website are used for authentication and security purposes in connection with user accounts and access to purchased products.
### Necessary authentication cookies
Provider: Supabase / Reliable Reach
Purpose: Stores authentication information required to keep a user signed in and provide access to the user’s library, account and orders. The cookie may be divided into multiple cookies such as .0, .1, etc. where necessary because of browser cookie-size limits.
When it is used: When a user signs up, logs in, or authenticates through an emailed sign-in link.
Duration: Long-lived. The browser storage duration may be set far into the future, while the validity of the user’s authentication session is controlled separately by the authentication system.
Cookie: sb-<project>-auth-token-code-verifier
Provider: Supabase / Reliable Reach
Purpose: Stores a temporary security value used to complete secure email-link authentication using the PKCE authentication flow.
When it is used: During the email-link authentication process.
Duration: Temporary; used only in connection with completion of the authentication process and removed or ceases to be required afterwards.
These cookies are considered strictly necessary because they are required to authenticate users, maintain secure login sessions and provide access to products and account functionality specifically requested by the user.
They are not used by Reliable Reach for advertising, behavioural profiling or website analytics.
## 4. Why we do not request consent for necessary cookies
Under applicable Danish and EU rules, storing or accessing information on a user's device normally requires consent.
However, consent is not required where a cookie or similar technology is technically necessary in order to provide a service explicitly requested by the user.
The authentication cookies described above are used for functions such as signing users in, validating users and keeping users securely logged in.
We therefore use these strictly necessary cookies without requesting cookie consent to the extent permitted by applicable law.
If we introduce non-essential cookies in the future—for example analytics, marketing, advertising or non-essential personalisation cookies—we will obtain consent where required before those technologies are activated.
